Have you heard of Yayoi Kusama -The Queen of the polka dot?

A radical artist whose works including painting, sculpture, performance and installations all feature her beloved dots. Born in 1929 in Japan her spirit of determination, even as a child, helped her overcome the protests of her parents to pursue her love of art and, later in life, overcome her own personal mental health struggles to become a pioneer in the 1960s avant-garde art scene in New York. She felt that "all my works are steps on my journey, a struggle for truth that I have waged with pen, canvas and materials".

Even now, at age 93, she continues creating and exhibiting her artworks and breaking records including the world record for most successful artist by museum attendance; her Infinity Rooms have beguiled audiences worldwide. "Now that my life is in its last last stage, I am putting all my energy into my art".
